Important Reminder for Parents/Guardians

Pet Safety

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At Earlimart School District, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors are our top priorities. With this in mind, we kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring the safety of everyone by keeping your pets under control, especially near the school premises.

Recent incidents involving unleashed aggressive dogs near the school have raised concerns about the safety of our community. Such situations pose a significant risk, particularly to our students, who may be frightened or harmed by these animals.

We understand that pets are cherished members of many families, so here are some important guidelines we kindly ask you to follow:

  • Keep dogs on a leash at all times when walking near the schools.

  • Avoid bringing aggressive or easily agitated dogs to school grounds, especially during student drop-off and pick-up times.

  • Ensure that dogs are properly trained and socialized to interact safely with people and other animals.

  • Respect the designated areas around where pets are not allowed.

  • Make sure your dog is safely at home and does not follow you or your child out the door.

Safety in our Earlimart community is a priority for everyone. We are certain that by working together and being mindful of these guidelines, we can create a safer environment.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child's school.

Let's keep our school community safe for all!

VITA

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

VITA, which stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, is a program offered by CSET (Community Services Employment Training) to assist low- and moderate-income individuals and families with preparing and filing their income tax returns free of charge. Certified volunteer tax preparers generously donate their time and expertise to help taxpayers navigate the tax filing process. This community program is made possible through a partnership between the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and CSET, aiming to provide valuable tax assistance services to those who may not have the financial means to hire professional tax preparers. Through VITA, thousands of residents receive support each year in completing their federal and state tax returns, ensuring they comply with tax regulations and potentially receive the tax benefits they are entitled to.

VITA FAQ

How much does VITA Cost? VITA is entirely free for eligible individuals and households.

Where are VITA services offered? VITA Services are conveniently available at various locations across Tulare County, including Visalia, Cutler-Orosi, Porterville, Tulare, and Earlimart. Explore our diverse service locations to access the assistance you need.

What do I need to bring? Click here for information

Who will be preparing my taxes? Local VITA volunteers will expertly handle your tax preparation. Each volunteer undergoes a comprehensive training program and holds certification from the IRS to prepare VITA returns!

This transformation will be made possible in large part to Measure M funds provided by the passing of Measure M in 2021 and will bring numerous new features and improvements.

The Earlimart Middle School pool renovation project represents a significant investment in our community's well-being. We look forward to unveiling a modern, accessible, and inviting pool area that will serve our students and community members for many years to come.

Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to share this improved aquatic facility with you in the late summer of 2024!

Stay informed: Regular updates on the progress of the renovation will be provided through our website and social media platforms.

New features and improvements include:

APPENDIX 1. NOTIFICATION TEMPLATE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

Este informe contiene información muy importante sobre su agua potable.

Por favor hable con alguien que lo pueda tradúcir.

Earlimart Public Utility District Has 1,2,3-TCP Levels Above Drinking Water Standards

Our water system recently failed a drinking water standard. Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have the right to know what you should do, what happened, and what we are doing to correct this situation.

We routinely monitor the presence of drinking water contaminants. Testing results we receive for the second quarter of 2023 show that our system exceeds the standard, or maximum contaminant level (MCL), for 1,2,3-trichloropropane (1,2,3-TCP). The standard for 1,2,3-TCP is 0.005 ug/L (micrograms per liter). The average level of 1,2,3- The TCP during the last year was 0.0058 µg/L.

What should I do?

  • You do not need to use an alternative (e.g. bottled) water supply.

  • This is not an immediate risk. If so, you would have been notified immediately. However, some people who drink water containing 1,2,3-trichloropropane above the MCL for many years may have an increased risk of contracting cancer.

  • If you have other health issues concerning the consumption of this water, you may wish to consult your doctor.

What happened? What is being done?

What happened? What is being done?

Well B-Clay Street produces water with 1,2,3-TCP above the maximum contaminant level. Our engineering firm has submitted a Funding Request to the State for a replacement well.

[Describe corrective action]

Until our Water System receives funding for the proposed project, we are limiting the use of the B-Clay Street Well.

Our compliance deadline is September 28, 2023.
